Just a little bit about who we are...
Scott and Madyson Millard have been serving the computer needs of Lincolnton, NC since 2004. During that time, they have established great relationships with hundreds of customers.

Scott, originally from Louisiana, is a former KC-130 Loadmaster in the USMC. After suffering medical problems while in the Marines, Scott realized that a new career was inevitable. Even while still in the Corps, Scott began exploring computers.

Madyson, originally from Washington State, is a former Graphic Artist with a government contractor. In 1983, she put her career on hold to devote all of her time to raising triplets. You heard it right, TRIPLETS! She did survive and is now working with her husband, managing the day to day operations of their company, Southpaw Technology Group, Inc. She is the first voice you hear when calling us for service.

Madyson Millard thinks her husband, Scott, is a genius when it comes to repairing computers.

“You see people walk out of here so happy,” she said.

“They came in here unhappy, so miserable and so frustrated that they just want to throw their computers out the window.”

“They come in here, ask Scott, ‘Did you fix it? Is it going to do that? Did you save all my information?’ He says yes. The customers get this big grin on their faces and out the door they go.”

The Millards own Southpaw Technology, which recently moved from 2424 E. Main St. to 2547 E. Main St. in Lincolnton.

The couple started the business out of their home five years ago, but decided to find a storefront after Scott was laid off this year.

Business has grown faster than the Millards expected, forcing them to find a larger space.

“We’ve had more people come in from word of mouth,” Madyson Millard said.

“I think the area is lacking the kind of services we do. We’ve had quite a few customers come in and tell us, ‘You are the only place we could find, you are the only place that would do that,’ which makes us feel good. That is exactly what we wanted to do — provide services that we couldn’t find around here with other local businesses.”

Southpaw Technology offers computer hardware and virus repairs and hardware upgrades. Scott Millard can also repair monitors, televisions, video gaming systems, iPhones and iPods.

Repairs can be done on site, if possible, but the Millards prefer to travel within Lincoln County. Used computers and accessories are available for purchase.

“We want to be honest with people,” Madyson Millard said.

“That is the big thing because we are consumers ourselves and have been through the years where you don’t know if you can trust someone. We want to make sure our customers understand they can trust us.”

Southpaw Technology is open from 8 till 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. Saturdays.
